how do queer people make space for each other?

𝒬𝓊𝑒𝑒𝓇 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝓂𝑜𝓃𝓈 sind Räume, Gemeinschaften, Netzwerke, Ressourcen, Veranstaltungen, Aktionen und Beziehungen, die von queeren Menschen geschaffen werden, um sich den karzeralen, extraktivistischen, unterdrückerischen und kapitalistischen Kräften in der Welt zu widersetzen und Alternativen zu schaffen. Als Teil eines Forschungsprojekts zwischen London und Hamburg treffen wir uns zu mehreren Veranstaltungen, um herauszufinden, was Queer Commons für verschiedene Menschen bedeuten – sie werden bei, im und zwischen PARKS und – im Rahmen von Cruising Mythology Symposion zu Praktiken des Unterwanderns und Überwucherns – SchauSpielHaus stattfinden. 

“From one vantage point, “the commons” today might look like the proverbial dodo, facing extinction as a result of neoliberal privatization across the globe. The conventional idea of the commons, as a resource managed by the community that uses it, might appear hopelessly anachronistic in the twenty-first-century. (…) If both the commons and the political solidarity of commoners are being enclosed and distorted in such ways, why bother with the commons as an idea or a thing today? And why the queer commons? Answer: because queer activism – not to mention queer life – is a particulary rich resource for imagining, experimenting with, and enacting the improvisational infrastructures necessary for managing the uneveness of contemporary existence.
