Violence Gratuite from Paris works as a video and sound artist as well as a curator. In her work, she explores the relationship between her French and Cameroonian heritage, addressing questions of her own identity and that of her generation. She consistently draws on a variety of pop culture references and aesthetics. In her music, which she has intensely focused on for the first time with the release of her album “Baleine à Boss” this year, she also combines a wide range of genres in a process characterized by digital experimentation, connecting it to contemporary societal issues.

In addition to her work as a musician she plays a key role in the Yoké collective and collaborates with several African festivals, including Nyege Nyege, where she helps shape the festival’s creative direction. As a multidisciplinary artist, she is interested in the art of healing through different mediums, including film and performance.
